Jennifer Walker, M.S. CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist who has been practicing for ten years. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2005 with her Bachelor's of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and with her Master's of Science in Communication Disorders in 2007. During this time, she gained experience working with children and adults with communication disorders, and fell in love with the field of speech pathology.
After graduation in the spring of 2007, Mrs. Walker began her career working in the public schools. Mrs. Walker was given the opportunity to work with children from 3 years of age to high school seniors. She has also worked in clinical and home health settings. She is experienced treating clients with speech sound disorders such as articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia, language disorders, tongue thrust, accent reduction, lisps, communication enhancements, fluency, and social communication disorders. Mrs. Walker has been able to collaborate with other professionals, such as, occupational therapist, teachers, and school psychologists.
Not only does Mrs. Walker know the clinician side of speech therapy, she also has a daughter who is deaf in one ear, and received speech therapy. Mrs. Walker can relate to being a parent of a child with a speech disorder. It can be tough, you just want the best for your child and you do not want anything to get in the way of your child reaching their full potential. Through this personal experience, Mrs. Walker has had the opportunity to be a special education advocate serving Royse City, Forney, Wills Point, Terrell Texas and surrounding areas.
